Back to School
I figured it was about time I add an update to my blog to let everyone know what I've been up to, as well as, announce some of my plans. Our family has had an awesome year so far.
We spent a great deal of it preparing for the Utah Valley Marathon, which we ran on June 11. It was an amazing experience. The training was so gratifying to look back on. We've slowed a bit with how often we run, but continue to get out there a couple times a week.
We also hiked Angel's Landing in Zion National Park, while I enjoyed a week vacation. It was wonderful getting out to appreciate the beautiful world God created. Jessica, Memphis, Mercedes, my mom, and I hiked all the way up to the lookout together. Then, Jessica and I completed the strenuous hike up the narrow path toward the landing. It was something like an 1800 ft. drop on both sides of the path...yikes! I was so impressed with the effort we all put into the hike. Even the kids hiked most of the way!
Well, if you're wondering what the huge "N" is all about...I am starting school (yet again) this Fall! I was accepted for undergraduate enrollment by the University of Nevada to the College of Engineering. I will be majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Information Systems. You may be wondering why I am going to school for a second Bachelor's degree. Well, the first one just wasn't very sufficient for preparing me for a solid foundation in a tech-related career. Sure...an online degree from an accredited university is enough, but I want the eduation to go along with it. Call me a nerd, but I have learned there is really no way to cut corners on the road to success. Anyway, that's why. I am excited to get started here in a few weeks.
That's all for now! Remember to find me on Facebook and/or follow me on Twitter.
